Senior Thesis: Cesar Chavez Student Center
As an interior design graduate at San Francisco State University in the FINA department, I worked on my thesis for the whole semester long. The thesis assignment focused on our campus’ student center, known as Cesar Chavez Student Center (CCSC), which is located at San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA 94132. I mainly focused on recreation and dining, conference, plaza, mezzanine, and pyramid interior levels. For the recreation, dining, and conference, I had added more plants and lighting into the the two floor because they are in the basement, which do not get much sunlight nor fresh air. Having better lighting and plants in the basement levels would help students concentrate better when they are not getting sunlight or fresh air into the two levels. They also do not have enough sitting areas for recreation and dining, conference, and plaza levels. By adding in more sitting areas, many students would be able to find time to rest or do some work before their next class.
